Alicia at 31 weeks

It's Nursery Time

Last summer we painted our office dark purple, little did we know that just a year later we would be prepping the room for our little girl. Although my decorating ability is limited, I have convinced Brett that the room would look amazing with three different wall colors. All light colors -we will post pics shortly - as soon as Brett can complete the two coats of primer needed to cover up the purple. Another reason why I love him so and why he will make a great daddy. Dependable and hard working :)

Auburn Mountainview High School Baby Shower !

Well, it is about that time and today I was given a shower by my closest teacher friend Stephanie (english). This is technically the second shower I have been given. The first was a surprise thrown by my JV fastpitch team, I was totally shocked and so touched. Lots of clothes for Ayla at that one, what else would 15 and 16 year old girls want to buy but cute little girl baby clothes.

We currently have 6 pregnant teachers at AMHS. Eva (spanish teacher) is my fellow mommy to be in this picture. Her little one is due August 28th. We will see who comes first...

Okay, okay...enough already! Her name is...

Ayla Christina Thompson

The etymology of Ayla is Hebrew and means something like oak tree, but we just saw the name in a baby name book and fell in love with it. Christina is obviously because of Alicia's sister. Do I need to explain Thompson? Now we can stop calling her "baby" and "she" and start calling her by her name. By the way, it's a long A like Kayla without the K.

Here she is at 28 weeks...

To the left is her profile. She's facing left. She's starting to look more human now!

On the right is a frontal face view. Did I say she was looking more human? Ultrasounds are so weird, yet so amazing!

Carrying on a Bosik family tradition

My family has gone every year since I can remember to Sun Lakes State Park for the opening day of fishing. It is an annual camping trip that brings generations of friends - who are more like family - together. It is something my sister and I still look forward to, many great memories. So with no further ado, I am proud to announce baby Thompson's first annual Sun Lakes trip!!!

She's movin and groovin!

We're not going to tell you her name until she takes her first breath of fresh air, but we've got a good one picked out. I really wanted Rolla Gervin, but Alicia shot that one down quick...I have no idea why.

Here are some pics of the 23 week baby bump. She's agettin bigger! Alicia is a gorgeous pregnant lady though isn't she?

Some big changes have occurred lately in the womb. Our baby girl is really starting to move around. Even I've felt a kick...a-mazing! She is especially active in the evenings which is great for all of us. It seems like time is going by fast even though Alicia would say otherwise. It won't be long until we'll have another toe head runnin around here though.

Spring Break...We registered !

I think as teachers we look forward to spring break way more than we ever did as students. We spent our first day of vacation, all day Monday registering at:
Target and BabysRUs.
Brett was just as excited as I was. Reasons like these are why I know he is going to be a terrific daddy :)

The 20 week baby bump

Here I am at 20 weeks. Baby Thompson under construction and growing fast!

It's a Girl !!!

20 week ultraound

Here is a description so you all can figure out what is going on in this picure - this one is a bit blurry.

She is facing down toward the bottom of the uterus, her head is on the right (you can barely see the profile of her right side), and the spine you can see clearly in the middle of the picture.

Baby Thompson Under Construction

Christmas 2007 brought the best news ever to the Thompson family...Alicia's pregnant!!! Hopefully this blog will keep our friends and family up-to-speed on how the little one is growing. The first 16 weeks have been filled with excitement and sickness as Alicia's had to bear the brunt of the tough parts of pregnancy.

Our first ultrasound in February was incredible! I had to hold back the man-tears when I saw our little one squirming about in what looked to be a cozy little pocket of warmth and nutrition. Alicia actually had to do some toe-touches just to get the little one in a better position for the the doc to take measurements...already showing some Bosik stubborness maybe???

In three weeks we'll find out the gender and we can let the spoiling begin.
